Has anyone tried drilling holes in the slates, or found a way of attaching fixings for hanging them onto/from things?

Try the old masking tape trick. E.g put piece of tape on mark your place for drilling and drill through the tape it stops glass cracking haven't tried on slates myself though lol

Thanks for replies these are actually wood, I have ordered one to see what they are like, I have read about a polymer spray that you put on wood and then you can heat press the transfer on not to sure how well that works, going to have a look at subli metals, just trying to find extra products

Thanks

Never known anyone yet to use that coating successfully (Please let me know if you have!) To get a good even coverage in a dust free environment will be very difficult. I'd personally be looking at what's available already and adapt to suit.

Mounting metal onto wood for example?

Araldite for small fittings. The other alternative is silastic for bigger surface areas.
