Re: Taking orders at Christmas market

Post by Skye »

I'm getting ready for some local Christmas markets.
My website allows customers to upload their images into online templates. I could give customers the web address so they can order from home, but there'd be more sales if I could catch the order & payment while they are at the stall.
Please could you share how you take "on the spot" orders for personalised items.

Thanks.

Hi. Paypal offer a card reader now for taking credit and debit cards and it's half price currently. See https://www.paypal.com/uk/webapps/mpp/c ... ard-reader

watch out for the number of venues where mobile service is CRAP. The PayPal reader is great.

Thanks for the replies.
I'm able to take payment with iZettle card reader.

I'm interested in how the customer leaves their image with you on the day.
Do they send image to your "drop box", use your website or something else? From ArferMo's comment, anything that uses the internet could be unreliable.

Thanks
Karen

Take a laptop with you and let them order online beside your stall.

I run a hotspot on my mobile and they transfer the image there and then as most pictures come from mobiles now.

I have just watched the Conde video. Could some tell me how to set up this iPhone kiosk. I got confused when he sent the image from his phone via the printer icon to" iPhone kiosk "but it appears in photoshop, surely send it to a printer and it should print.
Unless his laptops name is set up as iPhone kiosk on the wireless network? Have I just answered my own question?
Many thanks
Iain

Equipment used A4 Ricoh printer, HP3085 Heat Press Graphtec cutter, Jarin mug press, CJV 30-60 solvent printer and lots of help from DSF.
