Re: 3D Sublimation - Phone Cases Help!?

Post by ymdesigns_x »

Can i ask out of curiosity what temperature and settings everybody finds works best for printing phone cases?

We have solid pucks and none solid/hollow pucks (i think these are for the mini 3d), we have mastered the hollow pucks no problem, but when it comes to the solid pucks, 1 out 10 works, colours dull and edges are darker, we just can't seem to master them.

Printer is RICOH 7100 & Press is ST3042 (the red one) Ink is SubliJet-R

Our current settings for solid pucks are:

9 Mins at 195 C with both elements on - Pucks not preheated.

And the hollow back settings are:

9 mins at 195 C with just top element on - Pucks not preheated

As i said hallow back pucks we have no problems with.

Thanks in advance.

Heat the pucks. 20 mins at 180. Then 3.5mins 180 for the print.

both pucks we have = solid and hollow / lighter ones for the mini machine.
we put the puck in the machine till the time it takes to heat up to 190c ( about 2mins )....put case on puck, bring heat back up to 190c cause it will drop slightly...hit the start button when at 190c to begin sublimation ;-) - times vary from size of case here....from 110sec for the small 3d galaxy mini cases / iphone 3 - up to 180sec for the note 3 ect - using the small 3d mini machines
every case comes out spot on here

20mins for puck heat is nuts and def not essential with the small 3d mini machines......sorry...time is money !
