Mug pre heating

Hi I'm wanting to preheat my mugs before pressing them what would be a safe temp to do this with the design wraps on, I want to give the press a hand by warming the mugs first with the design wrap on, but I'm not wanting the ink to start to bleed through. Any help please?

DO you want to preheat the whole of the mug and if so why?

I agree with socialgiraffe in why? If your mug press has an idle temperature then we place the wrapped mug in when this is reached and then the mug of course heats up until the max temp is reached (be it 170 or 180) before counting down. With our process then we don't need to pre-heat before putting in at the idle temp. Olly

I always put a mug in.. The temp will drop, but once back up to 180 I start the timer.

We use an electric heat plate, which is big enough to sit 10 mugs on, on its lowest setting it is enough to heat through the bases. Our presses run at a set temperature of 200 degrees (C), and we have the timers running for 200 seconds from the moment they close. This way we have a constant workflow from the shelf to heat plate to the presses

You can place on top of a warm heat press if you have one. If I pre-heat I just put the lower inch or so into the mug press for 20/30 secs, just to get heat into the thicker base. I've recently changed to Xpres mugs and haven't had to pre-heat one yet.

I was wondering if pre heating the mug would help with an issue that I am having with Sparta mugs, getting fade round the bottom. however it now seem to be the top i am having trouble with just below the curved part.
I am using a multi- function press with a silicone wrap 1.6mm the press I have doesn't have an idle temp currently I use 200 temp for 360secs some come out alright other not so good. any advice or tips on how to put mug in the press use of wrap preheating would be appreciated. I think it's not getting the pressure required but the handle is touch both side of the press.

would I be better with the standard press that has a solid heat blanket surround instead of a multifunction one, with interchangeable jackets
