Re: Mug press problem

Post by andy 18 »

Mug press help needed urgently
Have an old mug king press which has just burnt out, we have a new press which is the genie from listerwood.
when using the genie we have all sorts of fading problems. We are using the same mugs that are from coralgraph.
Listerwood seem to think that the mug is the problem but we had no problems with the old press.
Anyone know the very best press to buy.
I have the Adkins Multi Press http://www.aadkins.com/multi.php which suits my needs perfectly.

I started with a Chinese press and have only had the Two but the construction of the Adkins I appreciate - this all depends on the amount of Mugs you are turning out, for me I dont do too many.

I would have thought though that your fading problems etc are just down to pressure, times and temps - there really is not a lot that can go wrong with a mug press apart from uneven heat ! Are you trying to get too close to the handle or is the fading at the bottom of the Mug near the base? if so you just need to pre-head the mug.

I havent heard any bad reports about those genie Presses !

Where are you ? I might be able to pop over and check how you are doing things.
