Is there another option istead of photoshop?

I'm totally new to this business, and not the best with computers, I was wondering if there is other software to use instead of photoshop please?

I don't have photoshop at the moment so I am not able to open any of the templates ive tried to download and was hoping there would be some free software somewhere I could download to be able to do the same job.

I use Gimp, it is free and does almost all that photoshop can do!

if you don't want to shell out for Photoshop at a gazillion quid there is always Photoshop Elements which I have found will do just about everything you are likely to need as a start up and it can run in beginner or expert mode which you may find useful. If you have a digital video camera and want to do a bit of video editing as well, Adobe were bundling together Photoshop Elements and Premiere Elements - I think it was 40 odd quid.

Photoshop is now on a monthly plan for just £8.78 (inc vat) a month. Personally I would not use anything else if you are serious about your business as every designer in the industry uses photoshop. Thanks I think that's an option that'll work for me, a few people have mentioned fireworks too, does anybody have any views on that please?

Hi. Fireworks is being dropped by Adobe. It was a tool for web designers to build and manage vector graphics. I do have a boxed version of Photoshop Elements 11 you can have for £20. That will allow you to open full Photoshop CC files as well as pretty much all the tools for photo manipulation. Olly
