Look really good Nik, where are you getting your blanks from?
I know that you didn't get on with the Longforte ones.

Hi Nik
Just an idea........
How about a chunk of aluminium plate in the press, get it good and hot then put your bell in with transfers and silicon both sides - inbetween the heated platten and the aluminium plate, which of course is going to work like a double sided press. Bigger and thicker the plate the longer it will take to heat up but the more stored heat and less the temp drop during pressing.

HavinG given the matter a bit more thought it occured to me that if you have an old chinese press (doesnt need even pressure, an accurate timer or particularly even heat,) kicking around doing nothing and you have two ali platesyou can be pressing one and preheating or topping up the other ready to use as soon as your good press opens

Simon, these ARE the Longforte ones - I was expecting the plastic Ones to arrive as you kindly gave me but these are Ceramic. I persisted with these as I had 50
Arthur - your a clever chap, I hadnt thought of using that Chinese press and making a jig - I can use the Plate Press I was using for the mug base stamps and make an associated jig.. means I wont have to keep using my adkins for these small objects.
I did cut the bell shape out of a Mouse Mat in an attempt to print both sides but I was getting plumes of smoke and it didnt work anyway.. on to work

Re: SUb Tree Decorations (Bells).
You could go a step further, and buy in white ribbon to print yourself- this gives you the option for further Christmasseyness, more personalisation, or your own branding .. easy enough to print in a flat press

You're going to rig together a double sides press from two cheap presses? - am impressed - can't wait to see it!NikGrey;94310 wrote:Arthur - you're a clever chap, I hadn't thought of using that Chinese press and making a jig - I can use the Plate Press I was using for the mug base stamps and make an associated jig.. means I wont have to keep using my adkins for these small objects.

Re: SUb Tree Decorations (Bells).
could you include a design where the ribbon part of the ceramic is actually coloured rather than part of the photo ? seems odd to me, that they are not flat, as the bow part serves little purpose unless it shows as a bow
