HI there,

I'm afraid you might be hearing a lot from me in the coming weeks! I'm not new to dye sub or heat presses, but this is the first time i'll be purchasing my own. I'n the past i have used an adkins heat press, with a Ricoh 3350 printer.

Although I have several suppliers that I get my coasters and mugs etc from, I will be opening a new shop on the 1st December, and want to offer an instore personalisation service. Therefore I will need all the kit to set up in store. My budget is £1000 for everything I need to get going. Can anyone advise me on the best kit to go for? I have been looking at startup kits from monsterdoodles.co.uk but I don't know if they are any good... Heat press must be big enough to press 18x18inch panels of fabric. I'd also like to get a mug press and plate attachment if possible, although this is not essential.

I have other questions, once i've decided on the press i'm getting, as I realise I need application sheets, transfer paper and blank stock! If anyone can advise me, i'd be very grateful.

From personal experience regarding service and backup allied to reputation and reliability I would recommend BMS as a one stop shop. Basically in business you need reliable equipment, backup and a reliable supplier and BMS meet these criteria.

For 18" panels, you'd want a press of at least 45cm quare, so around 50x50 ideally, which BMS don't have. Presses of that size aren't cheap, and likely would be more than your budget, so you may be best trying to source a good quality used one.

Hi Heidi,

I started off with an 'All in One' press kit from the supplier you mention - complete waste of money..

Also if you or anyone else you know is in the market for a full set of Bulk Pigment ink I have just the thing HERE.
I'm open to offers as at the moment I am £500 down and cant see a way out of this predicament yet :(
My website is open: www.Linksrepairshop.co.uk

Using FlexiStarter 10 and a Liyu SC631e & a Silhouette Cameo cutter. 2x Ricoh SG3110dn printers and Adkins Auto Clam press. Using Sublijet-r from Sawgrass.
..And I have gotten my money's worth out of this forum - saved Hundreds by being a Premium Member
