I didn't realise that they gave you the labels, but 67p per mug is a good saving and the price doesn't go on the label which is a major bonus. Not sure how to break it to my friendly post mistress that she'll not get my business any more.

They give you some labels - we got a box of stuff inc rolls of special delivery, recorded and customs labels. You can download your images from RM website that needs to go on as your postage, and I think you can order physical labels from them too although I don't know what the cost is.

Just spoke to OBA, but it's £2.53 plus VAT based on 10,000 parcels per annum, so only a saving of 16.4p. You need to be selling 28 mugs on average every day, provided you don't take big long holidays like myself to stay under the VAT threshold!pisquee;92819 wrote:£2.53 is what they offered us for RM24, RM48 is £1.98 for upto 1kg - these are the inc VAT prices, so in reality we're paying £2.10 for RM24
Actually quick calculations say that signing up would force me to register for VAT. Contractually obligated to send 10,000 parcels sold at retail price forces me over. mmmm bloody mugs and their high postage costs.

We registered for VAT voluntarily, as we worked out it would work out in our favour to do so, so we pay the business ex VAT postage works well for us.

Gary watch this space.
I have just registered for OBA and they are happy with those rates at less than 1000 items per year. I stay under the VAT levels as well.
I decided it was a bit cheaper, and more time efficient than the standard stamps etc.

If you want to save time there is also the drop and go service at the post office counter. Prepay a sum of money on a card and then drop off your parcels and run out the door. The postmistress will put all of the postage labels onto your parcels at a later time of the day and give you a receipt. Saves printing and buying expensive labels.JMugs;93717 wrote:Gary watch this space.
