I have been asked to print on polymer mugs as they will be used for toddlers who have a tendancy to drop them. I have also been asked for childrens drinks bottles.
I have found the temp and times on BMS's website but does anyone know whether I should put the mugs in the machine at idle temperature, the same as ceramic mugs or wait until operating temperature?
Thanks in advance.
Printing on Polymer mug products
Re: Printing on Polymer mug products
I've done a few polymer mugs, I put them in at idle temp, you've to get the puck up to temperature the first time. I use BMS's mugs but don't heat them quite as much I use idle 140C, cook at 170C and time 80 - 90 seconds, I found using the higher temperature recommended on BMS's website left a noticible outline of the paper on the mug but that's maybe pressure rather than temp. My kit is Ricoh printer, sawgrass inks and a Listawood Genie press.
