Having spent a lot of time adjusting my press I finally cam up with this modification which solves one of the biggest problems with pressing mugs - achieving repeatable and accurate pressure.
I have used this for the last week and I am really happy with its performance. Very easy to fit.

If you do not want to replace the clamp then the adjustable stud idea is still valid with the existing one.
