Re: Roller cleaning sheets

I'm using A4 Trupix paper through an Epson 4015DN; the paper is catching on the rollers and leaving black ink smudges on the print out. Has anyone used Epson cleaning sheets or maybe rubber roller cleaner to help correct this problem?

On the earlier Epson models, I have cleaned the rollers with a cotton bud and some of the ArTainium cleaning solution. You tend to find that once the ink is on the rollers and it dries and acts like a sponge to the wet ink the next time you print, exacerbating the problem.

I've found that with our instant dry paper that the problem doesn't occur. If you would like some sample sheets let me know and I can get them sent to you.

Is that the Jetcol paper? What do you have in A4?

Not the Jetcol, that has even less of an inkjet coating on the paper and would make the matter worse!

The Instant Dry is a brand we've been selling for years, mainly to dye sub users in the education market. It's coated both sides and as it's name suggests dries pretty much instantly. It is great for most substrates, but not suitable for soft plastics like hips, vac forming plastics.

It's available in A4/A3 and A2 sheets in boxes of 100 or 200 sheets.

It also helps if you cut the corners of the paper it stops it catching on the rollers and less change for it to be drag through

I cut the corners after it has been through the rollers! Might be worth a try then.

Unfortunately I can't use any of the other paper feeders on the printer to help the transport of the paper.

Any luck with fixing this Gary? Same thing has been happening with our 4015, but has gotten much worse lately.

I turned the paper the opposite way and the rollers cleaned themselves. Feeding though fine now.

was this happening as your pages first fed in to the printer, or towards the end of the print job? Ours always seems to happen towards the end of the page, so may not be the same issue.

Usually at the start, but it was down to the paper being very slightly curled.
