Printing on vinyl
Re: Printing on vinyl
Hi Everyone,
I have looked and seen mixed answers so wanted to try and get a clear answer. Are you able to print on to vinyl using a ricoh and sublimation inks? If yes can I buy any old vinyl from shops like staples (i know it not the cheapest place its just for testing)
Thanks in advance

Can you print directly to vinyl (adhesive material that sticks to cars/ windows) with Ricoh and sublimation inks - NO.Oaten;91113 wrote:Hi Everyone,

Can you use your Ricoh and sublimation inks to put an image onto Vinyl - YES. You print onto paper, lay this on top of Sublimation vinyl (or sublimation sticker) and heat press the image into the vinyl just as you would onto a t shirt or other items.
Re: Printing on vinyl
Thanks for the advice I really appreciate it!
im guessing you sell the sublimation vinyl?

This is my current problem - the answer is: A Solvent Printer.
Your Ricoh is NOT a solvent printer, the best option (from what I have seen) is the BN-20 (Somebody has One for sale on this forum right now) but I can't find the money

Re: Printing on vinyl
Hi Oaten
What exactly are you trying to do?
BMS have said you can sublimate on to vinyl, but then the vinyl may not be the sort you require (permanent, temporary, gloss, satin, matt, banner etc etc).
Likewise, Nik has said you need a solvent printer and recommends the BN20. A good machine but far to small if you want to do outdoor banners and a pointless machine if you are only looking at indoor vinyl.
So your question may or may not have been answered!

Can I ask whose clothing printable vinyl you use?
I'm looking at the Siser material from Grafityp, got some samples and it looks good and really thin too.
Thanks
Bob
