Re: Leaving Ricoh for a while.....
Will be away from the office for a couple of weeks. I always leave the printers on, I'm assuming whilst I'm away this is the best policy so that they can auto maintain?

Re: Leaving Ricoh for a while.....
That is what they say about Ricohs but.....
I have a back up A4 one, which has been collecting dust for a good few years. It also spilt ink everywhere inside (due to be turned on its side) and was in a complete state. I honestly thought that it was at the point of throwing away. However I wanted to test something out that required very cheap black dye subs only (that is all I will say on the matter!!!) so I got it from the attic and decided I would give it a go.
Fired it up, put some ink in it and away I went. bloomin thing did not even need a head clean.... lucky perhaps, but I personally turn all my machines off when going away and have never had a problem.
Afterall, you could have a power cut one hour after leaving the house....

Re: Leaving Ricoh for a while.....
Quick update to this. Decided to take the advice of suppliers and leave switched on, just over 2 weeks. I was told that the self maintenance would keep them right. Upon returning both needed head flushes. 7100 is now fine but 3110 isn't spot on just yet despite a number of prints. Will switch off next time for comparison! Cheers guys.
