Re: What is this thingystuff in Texipress Heatpress?

I purchased a Texipress Chief heatpress which I think is about 25-30 years old. The platten was pretty grotty, looks like it hasn't been cleaned in 30 years lol

The top platten consists of a top and bottom and sandwiched in the middle is this thingystuff that heats it. It's square and all in one piece same as the platten but holes have been made in it for the screws to go through. I think I expected elements like in an oven but it has this thingystuff instead.

The press doesn't heat up to temperature so going to get an electrician in to look at it but curious as to what this thingystuff' is.

Anyone have any ideas?

Good press, as far as I can remember!
But can't remember enough to answer your question I'm afraid.

Thanks pisquee. It's times like this I miss my dad, he was a font of all knowledge. I thought all heatpresses had elements in them so this stuff surprised me. I can't take it out to show anyone as it has wires attached to it and I don't want to mess it all up. Hopefully all will be revealed once I get an electrician out to look at it
