Hi GoonerGary,
I looked at improvising but to be honest nothing was of a practical size and what I did look at wouldn't have been very stable with the press in the open position, my Adkins weighs in at just under 50Kg according to the tech sheet. I did look at a couple of heavy duty trolley tables but they were way too wide and high and really expensive. So here we are with a self design and build that I can customise to my own (or most others) needs.

Cheers!
Nigel.

I use an old wooden dinning table ( era 1960´s) that a neighbour gave me.
80 x 80cm and as solid as a rock. I havent put wheels on it but it can be done.
Cost...Nothing.

Hi Earl, How you doing?
Your table and cost sound good but I need something that is portable and safe, not saying that your table isn't but an 80cm table wont fit through a standard door case without tipping it on it's side and leading the legs through first. Not good when you have an Adkins "I weigh a ton" heat press sat on it. My press currently resides on a dinning table but the wife and family want the table back. So here I am in the middle of designing something that will do what I want it to do and so far, things are looking promising.

Cheers!

Hiya Mrs M,
Drawings are evolving daily and sometimes hourly. I cant wait to post some pics but you will have to wait until fabrication starts. There's no rush, but I cant wait!!!

The actual leg part of my table is 65cm wide so you could saw the top down to fit through the door. Its certainly stable enough. My Adkins weighs around 56kg (Swing away Maxi Press with interchangable plattens) and the table is strong enough for that. To make it wider I clamped some kitchen work top to it so I had space to stack t-shirts and vinyl on either side. When transporting by car the legs unscrew and it all fitted nicely in my car.

Hi Earl,
I love the sound of your table, it would save me lots of time and money but I already have a table with a press on it. It's just that the wife and kids want their dinning room back Also, I ain't no spring chicken so lugging 50Kg of press around isn't an option.

Hi Gtphotos,
Your Ikea table looks ideal but, like all the other commercially produced trolley's they are about six inches or more too high for what I think is a comfortable working height. It's worth me paying a visit to Ikea to take a peek at how it's constructed though.

Cheers!
