Re: 3110DN paper type selection + disable colour management in printer
Printing from photoshop to my other printers (4900 & 3800) there is a setting in the printer driver to disable colour management so PS uses an ICC profile. I do not see this option in the basic 3110DN driver so how do I prevent double profiling ?.
My setup:

Also the paper options in the basic driver are limited to Plain, Inkjet Plain, Gloss etc. What would be the right setting for sub paper ?.

Would it not be simpler to use PowerDriver instead? Not being obtuse; it's a genuine question as I've honestly only ever used the PowerDriver and never opted to Photoshop's proprietary printer settings.

Re: 3110DN paper type selection + disable colour management in printer
I use a colour calibrated workflow ( Spectraview monitor, spectroproofer) with my other printers so that what I see on the screen matches the print. This is important as I often scan/print customers watercolours and they are a bit precious regarding colour accuracy when printed. This level of accuracy cannot be obtained using standard printer drivers and an ICC solves the problem. Sawgrass produce an ICC for use with their ink which should be adequate for most dyesub papers. Using the ICC will be more accurate than than adjusting sliders in the printer driver (PowerDriver) which is a coarse way of tuning colour balance.
In the great scheme of things you should get good results using PowerDriver but I am used to the ICC method.

That sounds delicious!
I have a much more crude way of achieving colour accuracy... I keep printing stuff out and tweaking adjustment layers in Photoshop until it's perfect, and that then becomes my default for that particular printer/paper/ink. Everything else I need to print just gets pulled into that default file and I know it'll print exactly as I want it to. Tried an ICC recently for the Epson 3880 and Hahnemuhle Photo Rag Pearl and the result was way off.

Hi wayupnorth,
I have a Gxe7700. To set the profiling off on that printer -
- go to Devices & Printers
- right click printer preferences on for that printer
- under print quality check "User settings" & press change
- set "color profile" Off & save.
Sawgrass recommend "Inkjet plain paper" as the paper type.

After selecting "user settings" there is no obvious way to make a change. Possible the drivers are different for A3 & A4 versions ?. So close.....

lol
It has been a long day, completely missed the scroll bar for other options.
Just tried another print but greens have almost gone and overall very muted. Very different to a print made yesterday which was far more colourful.
