Print is perfect, after pressing, image goes green!

Good evening all,
Just got my printer working (finally!) after ICC profiling and the print looks great on sublimation paper. However, when I press the image using my mug press the resultant mug is green in colour.

Any ideas as to why and any potential solutions?

Profile from CityInkExpress, same combination - as I said, the initial print on the transfer paper is nothing short of perfect, but when I press it it goes green. Tried 150 secs and 250 secs, both the same except the first one had not fully transferred.

Green prints you say? It's your CityInk profile, it is utter pants. I worked my way through an entire box of mugs after trying to figure out what part of my brand new set up was going wrong. His instructions for printing out the profile is wrong. I emailed him to say so and he told me that everyone was happy. Get Paul (moderator) on here to make you a new profile and then email CityInk. Publish his reply here.

Well... I don't have a problem with CityInkExpress up to now - fast replies, fair treatment, friendly guy and decent products so far, but the thing is the print is fine to start with. When I print onto the transfer, the colours are literally perfect. But when I press it, it's like when the dye reacts to heat it just loses its colour. I'm partial to thinking it's the cheap ink at fault - even though I can't spot a bad review about it, it's generic stuff. I can see your point about the ICC profile, but why would the print be perfect to start with but then go green only when the transfer process begins? If there's a problem with the profile, I'm likely at fault due to being a complete Photoshop newbie.

I'm using Photoshop Elements 7 if that helps. Will try to get a photo in a bit or tomorrow.

Should be the other way round, the print on the paper should look pants then when sublimated should look fine. Sounds like he didn't know you were sublimating and just corrected the print on to the paper.

You may well be right - but I did make it obvious that it was for Dye Sub, and the *.icm file had 'DyeSub' in the file name. So I'll just wait for a reply from them now.

Wow happy to admit to breaking ink license in open forum fair play ..... anyway your print should be far from perfect on paper it should look pretty dire thats the way it is with sublimation its when it gets on the mug it should look perfect. Did you get profile sorted out for that specific ink ? Have you got all the settings in your software set right ? Id check them out if i were you
