Anyone managed to get Cyan?
Re: Anyone managed to get Cyan?
If you get hold of TMT, they should be able to sort you out or the Sawgrass guys will if TMT can't. The Sawgrass chaps can take control of your computer and check everything. I run a ricoh as my backup for playing with ideas, the colour from the powerdriver is very good. Just my experience, and I know it doesn't solve your problem, but it may give you hope.

Re: Anyone managed to get Cyan?
If I have power driver installed and also the ICC profile then I can't be using both at the same time can I as I'm selecting either power driver or ricoh as the printer? I tried printing the RGB palette as a jpeg in word using the power driver and no difference in colours. Downloaded full version of coreldraw and followed settings for power driver etc and still no difference. The ICC profile produces better blues and a very close cyan but the magenta still looks a pale pink / purple so I can get one right but not all? The magenta was better when I ticked the coloursure box in power driver. I've emailed TMT to see what they say. I'm using their sub paper and it goes a little brown but am only doing 190 degrees for 40 seconds but have no cover over the top.

I would pick up the phone and call TMT (ask for technical), they will be able to talk you through step by step what you need to do and where it is going wrong.
190 for 40 seems a bit strange to me, but it depends on what you are sublimating I suppose.

Thanks, I'm pressing t-shirts, is that not what you do them at then?

Re: Anyone managed to get Cyan?
Generally I would press a sublmation tee @ 175 degrees for 80 seconds using Sawgrass inks.
But I do not do many polyester tees as my customers prefer the cotton feel.

Re: Anyone managed to get Cyan?
rang TMT, they weren't really much help. Said to check the temp of the heat press as he said it should be more like 60 seconds but when I did 45 seconds the black looked a little brown to me so reduced it to 40 secs and they look ok apart from the shade of blue wasn't right until I used the ICC profile but then the magenta wasn't right. Going to email Sawgrass to see if they can look over my settings etc.
Re: Anyone managed to get Cyan?
IT could that your printer isn't printing close enough to the one used for producing the ICC profiles used in PowerDriver or the standalone ones, and a custom profile may improve your prints, but I can't say this fully without knowing that the rest of your colour management is set up corrently, and without an IPS screen which is calibrated you're only going to get so far.
Re: Anyone managed to get Cyan?
Not really getting anywhere with fixing this, Sawgrass checked all my settings and they are fine, I emailed over the palette file for them to print and press using powerdriver and they said the colours came out fine so I sent them print outs on my paper (TMT) and a pressed t-shirt so they can see what I've been getting and at the moment are saying to use Powerdriver v4 which i can't as it doesn't work with Vista. I don't understand why my Ricoh can't print the same as their Ricoh if we both have the same settings? Might try some Truepix paper out of desperation! My Cyan cart is also not 100% clicked into placed like the others, it pops out a little but am getting ink come through as the Cyan in ICC worked but Magenta didn't. Also noticed that the ICC purple colours needed more temp to come out correctly than powerdriver as some looked brown until I increased the temp? None of the others changed apart from black turning brown as I went to an extreme with the temp just to see what would happen.
Might also look into getting a new ICC profile made as that was the best although with powerdriver you can choose saturated which adds more ink, what settings do i need to change to get the ICC to do that?

That doesn't sound right, so I'd say, that could be your problem. My Cyan cart is also not 100% clicked into placed like the others

Re: Anyone managed to get Cyan?
It does seem that you are having problems with the carts.
Personally I would load the printer and your computer in the car and pop down to TMT and ask them to sort it out. I know its a pain and I know that you did not think much of their technical support, but trust me they are a great bunch and will sort your problem out if they can. Many on here would argue that their customer service/technical support is one of the best in the UK.
It may seem excessive, but this has been going on a week now without any joy.
Once they have sorted it and the problem has been cured, it might be worth speaking to Sawgrass or TMT about replacement ink for the wasted stuff.
