Ricoh SG3110DN
Re: Ricoh SG3110DN
I spoke today with a Ricoh rep here in Melbourne but he got me completely confused.
If I get a Ricoh SG3110DN do I need to change the print heads to special sublimation heads or is the printer suitable to print on sublimation paper out of the box (as long as I use the sublimation inks that is)?
I was under the impression that this printer is suitable already out of the box but the rep was telling me that I will need special sublimation heads for this even though I will print on sublimation paper.
Thanks,
Richard

Re: Ricoh SG3110DN
I don't think Ricoh reps fully understand sublimation printing
. All you need to do is put Sublimation inks into the printer, nothing else. Just DON'T put the original inks in the printer.
Re: Ricoh SG3110DN
I use low cost sublimation ink in my SG3110DN and it seems fine, nice rich colours and no problems and only 6% of the cost of the main brand ink.
Re: Ricoh SG3110DN
Hi, I have a problem with the SG 3110DN printer. I use it for sublimation on FRP (fibre reinforced polimer) I have installed the powerdriver and use the Sawgrass icc profile. But the printer does not print out the same colour as we see on the desktop and it is a brand new computer. Anyone has any suggestions to solve this problem??
Re: Ricoh SG3110DN
Have you tried printing it onto the FRP?
The printout using sublimation ink doesn't look like what you see on the screen. It needs to go through the sublimation process to show its true colours.

Re: Ricoh SG3110DN
You only need to use the PowerDriver OR the Sawgrass ICC - using both will run you into problems.
Re: Ricoh SG3110DN
Yup, I meant after the sublimation process it i very different. It's turquoise on the monitor but after the transfer is came out dark blue
Re: Ricoh SG3110DN
Really?? So I just have to rely on ricoh's powerdriver? I do not have to use any icc profile?

Hi Nasuha, when using powerdriver, did you tick coloursure and then apply before pressing print as I had problems with blues and I didn't do this.
