Could be a bad batch of mugs, although if tight enough your press should be able to compensate for the non-straightness.
As for the feathering of the print towards the bottom of the mug - there is a lot more ceramic at the base, which takes longer to heat up than the walls, so when in the press, the base is sucking the heat away from the walls of the mug around it. This is why some people pre-heat the base of their mugs to eliminate this problem (we do)

I have another box I will try tomorrow  I also have a hot plate knocking about so will get that out and pre-heat the base.... still learning as vinyl is my thing but enjoying the learning curve and the lads at work are getting new mugs from all these tests
Thanks again pisquee

I found the first box to be spot on, and to be honest the top layer in this box was fine but the second and third layer are not the same,
Just a bad batch I hope, want to go and open the other box now but it's a bit late to go messing with the rest of the house asleep
Will try them tomorrow

Cheers Paul, had time tonight to check my other box of mugs and the look OK,
not had chance to test any but the element maybe the issue just not sure if to replace it or get another press (better than this one)
I dont use it much but when I do I want it to work 100% any recommendations on a new press?
