Need Help please! ST 3042 Machine
Re: Need Help please! ST 3042 Machine
Hello all. Im new to this industry and just purchased an ST 3042 machine. My Problem is the color hardly transfers to the cell phone casing and leaves most of the ink on the transfer paper. Can someone please tell me what I am doing wrong? Here are all the supplies and equipment I am using:
ST 3042 3D sublimation Machine
Ricoh SG 3110Dn Printer
Sublijet R Ink
True Pix Classic Transfer paper
Ive tried all different things such as heat 195 Celsius for 9:10. Pre heated mould for 10 minutes then vacuum and heat case for 3 minutes. Still produces the same quality. Here is a pic of how they are turning out. Im also having the same problem with Ceramic mugs in the machine as well. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I am just starting out in the business.

The trick to 3D is make sure your Puck is hot. I always run a complete cycle with nothing on the puck before I put the first one in.
Secondly are you printing on the correct side of the dye sub paper?
Also, make sure the lid is down and closed, I have the same machine (or rather it looks like the same machine) and it can sometimes slip causing a draft and subsequent incorrect reading
lastly this is how I do mine
410 DEGREES F
8 MINUTES TIME
GET OVEN UP TO TEMP
PUT BLANK PUCK IN AND RUN FULL 8 MINUTE CYCLE
PUT BLANK ON PUCK, VACUUM AND RUN 8 MINUTE CYCLE
I get perfect results everytime

Take the paper off straight away and place printed cover in cooling jig
One thing I forgot to mention is that when you it the VACUUM button and the membrane starts to form around the phone, I always run my hands and fingers around the case pressing firmly to make sure that there are no bumps n stuff and that the vacuum has really wrapped the paper tight to the cover.
Needless to say that all of this is done with heat proof gloves on

Have a search on You Tube
I use paper and make four snips (for an Iphone), I will try and describe...
place paper on top of phone and tape both sides
Cut paper at the top and bottom where the radius of the corner starts to flatten (see very rough diagram)

Now wrap the sides around the corner and fold inwards and almost back on itself, wrap the excess top and bottom over as well
Should be ready to rock n roll and once you get the knack then they take about 30 seconds - 1 minute max to wrap.
