Just wondering what you are all using as antivirus, since the news giving 2 weeks to get ready for the virus. :frown:
As we maybe more prone because we deal with attachments and pdf's in our line of business, i thought it maybe a good idea to discuss antivirus protection.
I am using kaspersky which has the extra 'safe money' security, (free if you bank online with barclays)
Im have also been backing up today as reccommended (im far to lazy at this and should do it more often)
Whats all your thoughts.?

I'm using a Mac so don't need to worry about it directly, but Microsoft Security Essentials is free with Windows these days (may need to be downloaded and installed seperately). It's actually very good, and has some very positive reviews.
IMHO there is no need to pay for antivirus/anti-malware these days...some of the free options are top notch.

Always used Avast but will be checking this is sufficient. Are you sure this can't affect Macs?
Re: Antivirus and Cryptolocker, 'Gameover Zeus'
It did say on the news that macs wasnt affected only windows operated computers could be, mainly through attachments and pdf, i would google to be sure.
It must be pretty serious to announce it like they have done with a 2 week warning

I hate to pee on your BBQ's but this Virus hit us here in the UK over 3 weeks ago and people with poor defences have already been infected! as I have seen watching buyers emails hit my infolder to only then be binned.
I would like to alert you all to the fact that these emails can look like they have come from buyers or other people you know even family members so before you click a link check that the person did send you the email

I suppose nothing is ever 100% certain with computers, but I've personally never felt the need to put virus protection on my Mac, and touch wood, haven't had any problems in 6 years. It's not really in the interest of the scumbags who write viruses to target macs.Justin;88951 wrote:Are you sure this can't affect Macs?
