Re: Suppliers Postage & VAT Rates
And this is the reason why I wouldn't name any supplier if they were good or bad and left it for people to look around!
A few of the suppliers are very upfront with all the costs but there are also some others that are trying to hide costs to make them look cheaper until you get to the checkout!
I have ordered from BMS a few times and the service was spot on along with being able to see what my costs were going to be

Re: Suppliers Postage & VAT Rates
Dont quite understand that reasoning to be honest i order from bms regually and get great service as such i make no secret of it and tell as many people as want to hear on the other hand its well documented that lovecut for example have an awful reputation and because its been discussed many times its given people an informed choice surly if you find a good supplier you want to pass that info on assuming you enter into the spirit of the forum and equally if you have a bad experiance then surly you would want to save others from making the same mistakes. Saying you havent mentioned names in an attempt to make the rest of us look around is a bit condasending really which im sure was not your intention but thats kind of how it came across.hope this doesnt cause offence thats not my intent its just my opinionfunkey monkey;88488 wrote:And this is the reason why I wouldn't name any supplier if they were good or bad and left it for people to look around!

Here's the name & shame.
This is only for the suppliers who are on this forum or have been.
Longforte! postage costs very high, Service when there is a problem Poor! quality of goods poor to average!
Coralgraph! postage costs very low & very good over £40 as it's FREE, service when there is a problem good! quality of goods average!
BMS! postage costs very high! service when there is a problem average! quality of goods average!
Listawood! postage costs very high! service when there is a problem (never had one) quality of goods average from what I've ordered!
Xpres! just to high everything! (never ordered from or would ever)

Re: Suppliers Postage & VAT Rates
Just to be clear, these are not the views of the forum admin
Much of this post is opinion to which I would have to disagree on many points in my experience but we'll let it run and see what responses you get from the wider public
Re: Suppliers Postage & VAT Rates
I've bought from Coralgraph once. Bought a full set of inks, had them shipped by Special Delivery and they didn't turn up next day like they were supposed to. Called the following day and asked for the tracking number (as they'd never updated my order and it still showed as 'processing' at 16:54 that evening) and some guy who had no interest whatsoever in being helpful told me that my package had been shipped off the previous evening. I reiterated that I wanted the tracking number, especially as they were saying that it left them the night before, because I wanted to claim for the delay in shipping. Guy gave me the tracking number after a bit of coercion and was about to hang up, but I asked him to wait because I was checking it with Royal Mail Track & Trace while he was on the phone. Turned out that they'd no record of the tracking number. Told the guy that, and all he said was that it shipped the night before and hung up.funkey monkey;88496 wrote:Coralgraph! postage costs very low & very good over £40 as it's FREE, service when there is a problem good! quality of goods average!
Next day... still no inks, so I checked with Royal Mail's website and it still had no record of it. In fact, there was no record of it until around 4pm that afternoon when it then said it was processing through their system. Next day it arrived, with the date stamp of the day before. So it wasn't sent on the day they claimed it was, still hadn't been sent when I called up and the guy gave me a tracking number (clearly reading it from a roll of labels), and wasn't even sent the following day until around 4pm. So I couldn't claim anything back from Royal Mail because they did their job as expected... it was just Coralgraph who weren't being up front with me. Thankfully, my ink didn't run out but you pay for Special Delivery for a reason, you know?

Just one point monkey.........you say in one post above that service from BMS was spot on, then in the more recent post you say service from BMS was average?

Re: Suppliers Postage & VAT Rates
Why would anyone (and i presume you mean suppliers who advertise here) think they were the opinions of admin funky is not a moderator so its clearly a members opinion , as you're gonna let it run that kind of suggests you have at least considered censoring it hope im wrong in that justin because as soon as posts are censored on the strength of a members opinion on a service they have recieved by a site sponsor then it nulifies the ethos of an open forumJustin;88497 wrote:Just to be clear, these are not the views of the forum adminMuch of this post is opinion to which I would have to disagree on many points in my experience but we'll let it run and see what responses you get from the wider public
We're all entitled to an opinion which are generally agreeded with on mass or shouted down on mass again i use bms as an example i believe there was a post a while back claiming their service was bad the following replies rebuked this strongly as the majority of customers recieve good service (still waiting for my fiver martin) on the other hand when someone complains about love cut its rare anyone jumps to their defence the reason are probably obvious. Id say the majority of this thread and indeed most posts are formulated around opinion it will be a sad day when a supplier who advertises here calls the tune

No, I havn't considered 'censoring' at all but have to watch the thread carefully in case of escalation. No supplier on here calls the tune at all, this is my call. Monkeys typo demonstrates why it is very important to watch threads like this.purpledragon;88500 wrote:Why would anyone (and i presume you mean suppliers who advertise here) think they were the opinions of admin funky is not a moderator so its clearly a members opinion , as you're gonna let it run that kind of suggests you have at least considered censoring it hope im wrong in that justin because as soon as posts are censored on the strength of a members opinion on a service they have recieved by a site sponsor then it nulifies the ethos of an open forum

I'm merely saying these are not my opinions and I disagree with many of the points but we'll all disagree to some point with these particular suppliers, some will disagree just for the sake of disagreement!! lol.
Re: Suppliers Postage & VAT Rates
I know I said I wouldn't post in this thread so forgive me this one time but I feel that BMS should get + added to there average on goods being as their RN coated mugs have a 12 month guarantee which I haven't noticed any other supplier doing. Mugs are probably the most bought product so giving them a guarantee is quite a substantial thing to do.
