[QUOTE=

What sites are you referring to Funky Monkey? None that I know of do not publish their courier/postage charges.

What an earth were you buying! A pallet of mugs only costs £50.00[/QUOTE]

There is one supplier on this forum where 10 boxes of mugs costs £59.90 for the postage then if you add 50 Ipad cases it goes up to £65.89
where as if you order the same from another supplier on this forum the postage is FREE!

Your refering to longforte as they charge postage for each box you add to your basket but they are transparent in what they are charging as you can see the total cost from the basket once you pop your postcode in. There are far worse supplier website when it comes to showing your total purchase costs.

It's not transparent until you put in your postcode in! and I was showing socialgiraffe how postage could be more than £40

Putting in your postcode is fair enough in my opinion to get your total, others will take you to registration forum and there is one who's basket doesn't show the right amount because vat is added to postage cost when completing payment. I actually quite like longforte's checkout system compared to others as for there prices you could ring them and try and get a deal or just don't use them your choice.

galerion,

Am I missing something here with your replies?

I showed that as an example of how an order could attract postage costs in excess of £40 to prove a point! then you come in with naming the supplier and saying their postage is transparent when it clearly is not! and yes buyers have the choice to order from them which is why I don't!

That is why I won't buy from suppliers that are not transparent and the whole point of this post in the first place!

I don't see the point in not naming who's site you do or don't like. You are trying to portray to two points as one. 1 you feel suppliers could improve checkout system (which I agree with but longforte's checkout isn't the worsed i've encountered. 2 Why do suppliers postage vary so vastly when compared to each other (This has been discussed on here before and the conclusion is the same reason our own postage varies.) If you are not raising point 2 then the amount postage cost shouldn't need to be raised in the descussion especially if you not willing to name the supplier your talking about.
