hi guys maybe someone can answer this I've been told that when a printer does a head clean the waste ink can be used as black ink again
at present I use waste tanks on all my printers but dump the waste ink but if the person that told me this is right ive wasted a hell of a lot
of cash never mind black ink
waste sublimation ink
Re: waste sublimation ink
The ink in the waste tank is a random mix of your inks - so it will never be the same exact colour when you empty it, so you will have no consistency in your prints if you were to try and use it.
Re: waste sublimation ink
From memory the ink colour in the waste tank is like a dark purple colour (mix of CMYK) rather than pure black. No good for sublimation really as pisquee says.george;88198 wrote:hi guys maybe someone can answer this I've been told that when a printer does a head clean the waste ink can be used as black ink again

Re: waste sublimation ink
Suppose it would be fine for an office/admin printer as generic black ink for printing general documents/letters etc, if you weren't too fussed about the colour not being actually black.
Re: waste sublimation ink
I've read about people doing this but not with sub ink, they normally mix it 50/50 with black ink but normal ink is cheap enough for me not to bother to try it.
