Hi there,

I know we don't know each other but I couldn't help replying here - hope you don't mind me getting deep and meaningful with a stranger.

From personal experience I know how difficult it is to keep your chin up when you have news like this hanging over your head. The word cancer has a stigma that instills fear into anyone, but times have changed and even if you do hear the worst (I sure hope you don't), there are still positives that can be taken from it.

First off all, success rates for treatment are SO much better than ever before. I had cancer (down below) back in 2004. I had an operation which we all thought was successful until a few months later when it spread into my abdomen. I was so shocked when they told me that I almost threw up and feinted right there. I had to have chemo, and it was a horrible experience, But...

Arko is right - When it was all over it gave me a whole new perspective on life and made me the person I am today. If it wasn't for that experience I would probably still be in an unhappy job, and living meaninglessly from one day to the next. I would certainly not be as happy as I am now because it gave me the drive to get more out of life.

I'm not trying to tell you my life story, just that even if you don't get the news you hope for, that doesn't mean you can't enjoy life. Whether I have 1 year or 50 years left I know that I when I go, I will have given my all to achieve my goals and get as much out of life as possible.

I really wish the best for you as I'm sure everyone here does.

Chin up and be positive!

bigj2552, I usually read these sorts of things and move on, because the sentence above applies pretty well to my life. I had a series of health disasters that caused me to lose my businesses, my homes and most of the things I loved in life.
Just when I thought it couldn't get worse, I had open heart surgery and brain treatment in the same month and have been trying to recover from that. In fact those last are the reason I found this forum in the first place.
It is amazing what our bodies can crawl back from. I've seen some of your posts on this site. You have friends and support on here. Good luck. Fingers crossed that it all comes out well :)
