I'm a lousy photographer....lousy :-(

I bought a couple of really good mannequins and took the photos on these with a plain white or black background. Removed the background in photoshop and it worked out ok.

I also got some 1/2 shells of female and child's torsos which proved useful.

Still got them all but looking to sell if anyone's interested! Mannequins are huge boxes so shipping a bit steep :-)

try P mode if you not familiar with manual mode. point flash to the ceiling.

The only reason I pointed the flash directly at the bling was coz I wanted the flash back to empaisise the bling. Will I get the effect if I point at the ceiling?

you should get same result but better. fire the flash directly you will create hot spot. by bouncing light of the celling you will get more even light on the subject. whatever light bounce off of the blinking sequins will give you lovely star glares through your filter :)
