Re: Hi From Oxfordshire

Hi everyone, I 've been 'lurking' on the forum for a few weeks wondering whether or not to take the plunge and actually buy some gear and have a go. I've been into photography for years and as such I'd regard myself as competent in Photoshop so no worries on the template settings.

A couple of weeks ago I bought a single heat press (ebay - probably chinese) which came with 100 sheets of sub paper, 36 mugs and two rolls of tape all for £117 delivered :) My first efforts were poor, but thanks to the knowledge and kindness of people on this forum I soon found that the problems I was experiencing were nothing new. They ranged from fading at the bases, blacks coming out brown, lack of sharpness in the images etc.

The answer to this was to buy some decent paper and decent mugs and find the right temp and timings (the best I've found is 175C for 175 seconds) and all I can say now is that I'm blown away by the quality I'm getting. I've actually sold 6 mugs so far so I now feel like I'm on my way :)

So, in a nutshell, thanks to all who have shared their issues/solutions and helped me on my way - I'll certainly try and help anyone else who is having similar problems to the ones I was getting.
