Looking through some of the posts I was struck by the reaction to people using the 'morbid spade' to dig up old threads and/or proffering ideas and I remembered seeing this extract from another forum on the web. Just popped it in to brighten the day.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Clearly things have degenerated in forums. Nowadays people will just post whatever flashes through their minds in a moment of involuntary insanity, they will provide their own unfriendly opinion laced with acidic venom and suppressed jealous rage and who knows what else! So, here are the new rules of forum etiquette to keep
everyone in line.
#1 -- If YOU don't like something that is posted, BITCH! Who cares if it's
free, and if someone else did it on their own time and with their own effort.
If YOU don't like it, BITCH! Bitching will encourage them to post more.
#2 -- If something is posted and you don't understand what it is, then BITCH!
You should NEVER have to do any research, or look back a few days, or read
someone Else's questions and answers to learn anything. EVERY post should
ALWAYS be clear to YOU. If a post isn't easily understood by you, BITCH!
Bitching will encourage them to post better.
#3 -- DO NOT learn how to use your kill filter. Why should you have to filter
out someone whose posts don't appeal to you? If it doesn't appeal to you, they
shouldn't be posting at all! Don't waste your time setting your kill filter --
just BITCH!
#4 -- BITCHing is not effective unless you cast slurs, call names, use
profanity, and generally denigrate the person who is providing stuff you don't
like, or in a way you don't like, even if they are doing it at no cost to you,
all on their own time and expense. When you BITCH, do a good job of it. Why
call them a "moron" when you can call them a "scum-sucking worthless bag of
turkey droppings?" Get creative, and learn to BITCH well.
#5 -- Don't cut anybody slack on anything. If the spelling isn't right, BITCH!
If they post in general when you wanted help, BITCH! If they think protecting
themselves from possible sanctions trumps your right to have everything given to
you free by the efforts of others, don't put up with it. BITCH!
#6 -- BITCH LOUDLY! Use caps, and put your Bitch in the title, so that everyone
can profit from your wisdom.
Please follow these new rules of forum etiquette. This will ensure that
only the right people post the right material in the right way.
Surely once these new rules of etiquette are prevalent, all the posters will
make sure they only do things in a way that satisfies your every whim. What
could possibly be more important?
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Remember this is not aimed at you because you're a really nice person aren't you?

Like that David.
As a member of quite a few forums, I am always pleasantly surprised at how good and nice this particular forum is. We really do not get too many arguments and there is a genuine willingness to help each other out.
