ebay sellers a must read...big changes ahead

My first reply was in response to posts 4 & 5, more added since while I was posting.
As I said yes the asking of a question should be changed back to how it was so it can be done without opening a case. It can be done now, but most people will just click through and end up opening a case.

We take a few days to send, as we have far too much work on to get items out same day as a rule unless they specify the order is urgent then we will see what we can do. However we also have our lead time set to up to five days on there, so this may be why.

I also dont like the returns bit,

From autumn 2014, some sellers who already accept returns will be required to use the managed returns process. It’ll then gradually become a requirement for all business sellers. We’ll send emails and information 2 months in advance to these sellers about what this means.

I dont want collect + handling my stuff @ a cost of £4.

I will have a better look at it in the morning, but again have never had a return, so not sure where I stand on that one. I hate using ebay anyway, but it is a good front for gaining extra custom though.

I started a few listings on amazon the last week, think ill set some time aside to give it a good go on there.

ebay have openly said they just want the big retail giants so its a shopping mall, looks like this is the start of the push.

Although the email i got did sya i would still be TRS, i wonder for how long?

One good thing is it seems to be going to do away with the P&P and dispatch stars counting against performance.

Its a shame for all those sellers that have been banned in the last year because of them, most come on the ebay boards and dont even know how to access their DSR dashboard and what it all means, they wonder how they have been banned even though they have got 100% feedback.

Its just collect+ at the moment, they are bringing in RM in the autumn.

I think people were moaning because the minimum was about £4 because it had to have a sig, and the sellers that were posting letters, LL or small parcel didnt want to pay collect+ prices.

god knows what eBay are thinking, the last set of changes were bad enough making it into an envelope stuffing endeavour but this new set seems to boot everyone but the smallest sellers. 5 defects in a 3 month period and you lose TS, 8 in a 3 month and lose Above Average and with these new "defect" rules where anything seems to be a defect unless its 5 stars all the way.

How many big sellers can avoid 5 defects in a month never mind a 3 month period?

I had a customer buy three tshirts recently. But wanted to return two of them because he was unsure of the size (despite there being a complete diagramatical breakdown of sizes on the eBay listing), so he bought all three (S, M & L) just so he could be sure he got the right size. By eBay policy I had to accept the returns, even though its a bit galling to say the least but when he wanted to return the items, he opened a case - so by the rules that's not an automatic default. So the customer is at fault for buying three items so he could get the right size, and even though I accepted the items back, I would've gained a "defect" even though he left 5 stars for everything?

i sell enamel pins on ebay at the cost of £2.49/£2.79 each (some sellers sell them as low as £1.99 by the time i have paid for the shop / postage / time / effort etc, it really is not worth it, i have as others have asked ebay to look at the shop dynamics, so if you are selling high volume low cost ie 100 items a month at £2.49 rather than 100 items a month at £9.99 your fees might vary but ebay are having none of it, yet they could easily just keep the listing limit, and change the value limit - i too am going to look at amazon
