I know what you say but would be nice if there is more then one person who can make any decisions. as I said. it would be nice to have a chat with few people in administration of the forum and discust forum future. I mean people who almast every day on forum and got something to say. I am not talking about those who only "watch forum". democratic way...

but if there is any one on here who thinks this is bad idea lets leave it as it is :) this is only proposition ;)

I use justhost for my website (which I'm getting nowhere fast with due to time constraints and being a numpty ) and I believe they also have forum hosting capabilities.

AFAIK they are US based, but when I was getting started, I had no end of problems, nothing to do with them may I add, and I had emails replied to within minutes, and even got a telephone call from them as I couldn't get my head round the email

I also used to belong to another phpBB forum, and it was a total nightmare, going down on a daily basis, and the support from them was terrible :(

I like the way this forum is run, everyone is helpful and imparts their knowledge without hesitation, adn I've learned soooo much from here since I joined, and for that, I thank you all :D

I use a good UK host for my websites. The owner is active on various business forums so plenty of feedback on them and you get to know the individuals you deal with.

Paul - you got any specific changes in mind? Can't think of much to change right now myself. Would have been good if we could have got the mailing list from the PPP but Kevin turned out to be bit of a sh1t in the end. Perhaps a special offers for Members with 25 posts or more to increase footfall.

Do member offers actually work? Might be worth getting some feedback from suppliers that have posted.

Be useful to know the host Andrew if you could PM me?

I do like the idea of having a minimum number of posts. As other have said before, why should a non-posting member get the same discount as someone who puts a great deal of effort into helping others? It would have been good to get the PPP mailing list but as you say this didn't happen. It would have helped the industry by giving these members somewhere else to go but obv. the owners of the PPP aren't that bothered about their members or the industry.

Agree, good to get some supplier input here.

Would it be a good idea to have a directory so that all members can list what type of work they do and offer their services to other members?

Listings, backlinks etc all would be off benefit to members. You could have different levels of when you get what. 25 post listing/100 listing with link added/ 250 showpiece article or whatever. Anything to encourage active use. The active members are the one's who will make the forum grow so encouragement should be shown to push it that way. Well atleast that is what I think anyway.

I would think doing the post limit thing will either make people just walk away or post utter shite just to get there count up? Might be wrong, I have been before lol
