There is a myth here - the Sawgrass inks (Ricoh SG3110 SubliJetR and Epson 7890 SubliJet Pro Plus) have both been used to sublimate 3D items at temps as low as 135-140 degrees C. There isn't a 'low temp' sublimation ink and the inks we have supplied to a company manufacturing 3D machines here in the UK are just the standard Sawgrass inks which sublimate perfectly at these temps and 3D machines are sold following demonstrations of exactly this kit.

what about cross -contamination ? if they using the SAME TUBES ect, you will still have deposits of the previous inks ..so i cant see either how they use low temps inks through the same machine

hence prob what martin is getting at...just look good for sales promotion of new product

as for the mugs...if this works right, it should eliminate all errors in printing, none of the cold spots on the mug press ect, or not enough pressure or...you get the drift here.

be nice to just use something that WORKS, with any drama or wondering if this or that is gonna come out right....better for the brain, better for the wallet

Exactly my point. There isn't a different ink for 3D printing v normal sublimation printing. They are the same inks! In the 3D machine we have then we set the temp to 195 for 6 minutes (with a hot puck). Exactly the same inks are used in a different 3D machine using a different heat process and sublimates at 135-140 degrees C.

Thanks, but no thanks :) Import agent means offering warranty, carrying spare parts, offering technical support for an un-known machine, liaising with an unknown supplier etc. If you guys want to club together then be my guest :)

But what temp were the phone cases printing at in the new machine bigj? I know other UK suppliers were selling lower temp inks with machines as well.

is it true martin that they will stop making the old red one as its been called, since the "new" model has come out ?

and....

if the new model is out, that usually means a drop in the previous model price wise, to try and get shot of them ?.
