Hi Guys,
I have bought some Doming Media Vinyl from The Transfer Press http://www.thetransferpress.co.uk/acata ... media.html and I am using a Cannon Inkjet iP5000 photo printer to print on it, the quality is very poor, it almost looks like it is not sticking/soaking into the print layer, is there anything I can do to improve the quality of is this a printer/ink issue?
Any help greatly appreciated

Re: Doming Media, Printing Problems
Hi Roy,
Before I had a wide format printer, I used a canon pixma pr9500 mk II pigment ink printer, I tried a few of the different doming medias but the only one I had any success with was the one sold by liquid lens. This was far from cheap though I think it was around £150 + vat for 50 a3+ sized sheets.

Re: Doming Media, Printing Problems
Thanks Jason,
I was kinda hoping that it is ink related as the black seems to have printed quite will, its just the colours that seem to be the problem, reds and browns mainly, are there any printers that this stuff is suited for, has anyone had any good results, the brown and red are very patchy, almost see through in places, can vinyl be laser printed?

I had similar problems. the media I use is now from liquid lens but I have tried this product which works ok but was little on the non absorbent side. The first one I tried was from this site and it gave exactly you problems you describe. I wouldn't want to try any of these vinyls in my laser printer as I am worried about the fuser getting coated.
