no problem Paul, I wasn't having a pop and appreciate that you were just making a (very sensible) suggestion.
However, you haven't met our IT section! Its hard enough to get them to install stuff for legit work activities let alone for private interest stuff! In the past I have always had full admin rights on my desktop PC but since moving department I am now just a user with no admin rights whatsoever. I can't even apply updated to Acrobat, Flash player. It really gets on my wick.
Where as - real people in the room together having driven say 100 miles to be there requires no IT support whatsoever and IT can't interfere or make things difficult
