If you do a five perfect squares (each one 100% - one of 100% cyan, 100% magenta, 100% yellow and 100% black and then a 5th of 100% in all four colours) in something like Illustrator or a vector program and print that out onto the paper, that will show you if you have overspray or if its the image. A vector image should have a perfect reproduction.

Ok mate I'll give that a go and see what results I get.
