Re: Sublimation Dark Transfer Paper

Hi all ... im interested in the Dark transfer sublimation paper that BMS sell ...

Do you print directly onto the Dark transfer sublimation paper ( not reversed ) and then apply the printed transfer to the t shirt or do you print on standard transfer paper first ( reversed ) and heat press onto the dark transfer paper then cut and apply to garment ...

I have used Xpres Sublitex and the process has to be print on paper first ( reversed ) then heat press onto the sublitex ... then apply ..

Anyone care to explain the exact process here .....

thanks :)

As per the website...

"The printing process involves printing directly to this special paper (do not mirror image the design) and then cutting around the design either with a guillotine or other method depending on how simple/ complex the design is.

Once printed and cut, the image is then pealed from the backing sheet and the design laid on the garment. The special paper has a glue activated backing so when this is pressed onto the clothing it sticks to the surface producing a full colour image."

thanks for the info .... so is the final image good with vivid bright colours etc ...

obviously when printed on normal Sawgrass paper the image is quite subdued and dull until pressed ... so does the dark paper image intensify under heat ..

You will get a reasonably vibrant result, but the paper itself is matte finish so the final transfer won't be bright and shiny.
