Long time since I've been on here!

Wonder if I could tap into your experience?

I'm using an Epson 9880 to print onto inkjet canvas with these inks:

I purchased the following Matte Varnish 2.5LT Liquid Version to finish the print and protect it:

After printing I leave the canvas to dry for 24hrs before applying the varnish. The problem is, the varnish destroys the print! I've tried applying with a foam roller and using a spray-gun, both destroy the print!

Here's a typical example of the problem I'm having:

Could some kind soul tell me what I'm doing wrong?

Thanks

John

Not sure you are doing anything wrong, it very much looks like to me like the varnish is reacting with the ink or possibly the canvas. The ink doesnt really say in the picture if its phto ink but it is epson so should be ok what canvas are you using is it polyester canvas. Giclee varnish is the stuff i used to use when printing from my canon onto cotton canvas with pretty good results

I discovered the problem!

Apparently a 'silk finish' cotton canvas reacts with the varnish and causes the cracking you see.

Hope Pembrokeshire is enjoying sunshine today :)

Cheers John - got 'Man Flu' :(
