eBay Feedback Order.
Re: eBay Feedback Order.
I thought I would see what your views are on this.
As I see it, it is up to the Buyer to leave Feedback first - they need to let the world know about your service, and the product.
As the seller, the buyer has simply paid for something - what can you say about that in feedback ? "Paid - well done" !
In any case the seller cannot leave bad feedback any longer, so it doesnt really make any difference as you are always at the mercy of the buyer - if your unlucky enough to get a 'wrongun' who expects everything for free you don't have a leg to stand on.
I used to use something when I was a proper seller - cant remember what it was called but it automatically left feedback as soon as the buyer left feedback first.
So, which way around do you do it?

Re: eBay Feedback Order.
i leave feedback for all my buyers once a week i try make them personal to the buyer as best as i can, buyers seem to like this and has got me repeat orders
but if they havent left me feedback by the time i leave them feedback they just get a "thank you!!!" subtle reminder
i realise if i stay on ebay and it gets busier this will be harder. so the auto feedback would be great
as it is right now i can leave mulitple feedbacks at once (same comment) but it wont autofill when the buyer makes a purchase
but i hate ebay, its all pennies and some just want something for nothing and being at their mercy is not the least of it
buyers know they are always going to win but its just the dishonest Hungary buyers that want something for nothing
i had a buyer email me last week sayin he never received his mug and as it was close to Christmas i told him id remake mug and repost so there be no delays (mug was delayed by 3 days)
so i remake and dispatch.. 2 days later he receives both mugs.. 1 that was lost and the other one i sent out. But one was smashed on arrival.. (dont know if it was the new mug or the lost mug that arrived smashed)
he only asked for a refund!!! saying he cut his finger when he took it out the box, surely the BOX was rattling before being opened... and whats he doing opening both mugs? could have rejected the (broken mug) to send back to sender he would have never cut his finger then KARMAS A B*TCH
so he opened a case on ebay, saying he received a broken mug and seller refused to refund, lucky i keep proof of everything i send out and ebay closed in my favor after 2 days, but the cheek after me doing him the favour i couldn't believe it... it causes stress and takes up time dealing with ebay chavs ha ha
but that taught me to make sure my returns and postage details are updated as i rarely concentrate on that...
and thumbs up for ebay customer care as much as i dont like ebay, they blocked him from leaving bad feedback
is this normal procedure? i have only being selling on ebay since October so still kind of newish to it
i have recently (3 days ago) become a powerseller but was only on ebay to give me a kick start seems thats all it is good for
i use etsy now really good, alot of over seas buyers and not near as strict as ebay buyers seem normal aswell
cant seem to grasp amazon yet so i have stayed away from that for now
edit
I know i mention buyers always win then i won a case but i have read and heared enough to know i was probably very lucky, beginners luck i called it, next time i might not be so lucky

Stay away from eBay.
I was 'on it' when it first started, things were different then - these days the seller is at the mercy of the buyer.
There is a post here somewhere about some of my issues with it these days.. just not worth it.

Re: eBay Feedback Order.
A necassary evil is the best way to describe ebay their rules and constant bias towards buyers rather than sellers makes it infuriating selling on ebay i get sick to death of peoples unreasonable demands etc but on the flip side ebay does provide sales and has kept my shop going so its difficult to complain but i do look forward to the day i can say good bye to ebay . As for the feedback system this has become a joke and ebay do themselves no favours most people now know the feendback system is pretty meaningless. As a seller you can only provide pos feedback or none at all personally i dont think it fair tyo wait for feedback before i leave any after all if a buyer has bought and paid for the item promptly they have then fulfilled their part of the deal why shouldnt they recieve feedback for this if you wait until you see what feedback you get before leaving them feedback well isnt this just tit for tat ....."you left me bad feedback so im not leaving you any" i do admit when ive recieved a neutral and on the rare occasion a negative i do wish i could go in and remove feedback ive left especially when their feedbacks unfair.NikGrey;81224 wrote:I thought I would see what your views are on this.

Heres a good one for you though i had a customer contact me lettin g me know their postman had tried to deliver my parcel to them but failed and left the usual card letting the customer know they should pick this up from the depot . The customer went to the depot where royal mail said sorry weve lost it and suggested she contact the seller for replacements and it was upto the seller to claim back from royal mail ie me .
I was most annoyed at this but hey ho its not the buyers fault royal mail are inept so i agreed to replace the item and asked that a copy of the failed delivery card was scanned emailed to me so i could put in a claim which the seller very kindly did . i was all ready to reprint and rush out the order for the poor old buyer so they could recieve the items they had bought for xmas , when my wife noticed that the date on the failed delivery card was the 14th dec she looked through her list of items we had sent from ebay and found that we had dispatched the item on the 16th dec now even by royal mails standards losing an item before its even posted is pretty impressive. i contacted the buyer and let them know about the confusing dates and how odd that very morning my parcel turned up !!!! phew eh

have to slightly disagree here nik, i know ebay can be a pain but for me this last few months it has helped kick start my new website, i sell much more on ebay, and then after the first sale i try to direct my new customers over to my new web site. hopefullly this time in 12 months i can stop my ebay account and let the site take over, well thats in my business plan anyway....
Re: eBay Feedback Order.
ebay is a pain, but without it I would not have much of an income, I list on other sites, but they do not do nowhere near as good as on ebay.
I use seller manager pro and have it to leave feedback once I receive feedback.
The way the dsr stars are with ebay you are actually better off not getting any feedback at all. (no feedback counts as a + with dsr, yet if you get poss feedback and they leave a 4 or less star that knocks it down) so unless you need feedback to dilute neg feedback don't chase it.

Re: eBay Feedback Order.
yes i agree with all of you it is a pain and wish i could stay away
but ebay generates sales, i like to place nice little packaging letters directing them to the website for there next purchase
and a sneaky little description with a sly email address in it just incase the buyer decides it be better doing deals off of ebay
and ill always offer a little discount even for just 1 item if they pay directly
they are the customers i like and will always make sure customers who deal with me that dont go through ebay are dealt with first and posted out the same day if possible
with ebay i always leave the parcels to sit for a day or 2 just to gather some dust
4-5 working days i state my postage at, so if i time it right i may get the weekend out of them aswell ha ha

Re: eBay Feedback Order.
Dsrs etc are pretty meaningless now , to get top rated seller status you have to offer next day delivery dispatch within 24 hours and free delivery now if you can do all of the above you aint busy enoughor your names moonpig
Dave good luck with transfering customers but hate to say it but i doubt you will transfer enuff to make it worth leaving ebay, i get people buying from my ebay store but usinv my uploader on my website so i know they are going to my site , the fact is joe public likes buying off ebay rather than websites simple as that really. I think people assume they are better protected on ebay.
In ebays defence and really do hate defending ebay but consider the cost of advertising your site properly also consider how much it would cost in seo for your site. All this you get on ebay type one of your products in google and chances are the ebay version comes up first. Cant live with it cant live without

/QUOTE]
to be fair thats a good point, but i think once you can offer the customer to pay through paypal and your feedback on ebay is top notch then transferring customers should not be an issue aslong as you offer the same top quality service.
but too transfer enough to leave ebay i dont think will be possible..
as you say purple the seo and advertising ebay do for ebay sellers alone makes it so much more worth while, and once your listings start climbing the ranks then you may find leaving ebay will no longer be an option... But we still hate ebay right??![]()
i am replying to this but i am wearing blinkers, because to be fair starting before christmas will never give me a true reading of what ebay/customers are like the rest of the year, people will agree to anything as long as you promise to get their gifts to them on time

Re: eBay Feedback Order.
i normally wait until i have received their feedback, i have had a couple of instances of the items not turning up, so if i automatically do their feedback, then i get "item not received" i always archive the items as soon as i have given them feedback, and any i am waiting for after a week, i normally just ask if everything is ok
