there may be a plugin available for whatever CMS you use for your site. I know there are a few good ones for Wordpress, so imagine other CMS's would be the same.Mattie;80619 wrote:yeah i'm working on code to display right click

Re: Yet another website using my images
Sorry but disabling functionality on your site will only annoy your legitimate customers and do very little to deter people stealing images, who are only a click away from disabling your countermeasures. I know its annoying and potentially denting your reputation but causing your legit visitors inconvenience to counter it is probably doing more damage than the unauthorised image use in the first place.
Re: Yet another website using my images
that's why I've never done it or used watermarks. It won't really effect customers as they don't need to right click anything or ctrl+C etc

Re: Yet another website using my images
you don't know that, you'll be amazed at how much people send to others, for example...
I think grand-dad would like a mug, but I'm not sure what picture to put on it so I want to send a picture of the mug to my sister via email to get her opinion.. oh I cant
this happens EVERY DAY people send webpages by email, copy pasted, and you can't use the "well they can copy the url instead" argument because customers just don't think like that, you've put a block in the way of their natural buying process, and they won't thank you for it.

This may help stop the opportunists but any screen grabbing software will enable you to grab and crop anything online. The watermarking would probably deter people from using your images though and if you're playing with your code online why not make this an auto feature so when you upload new images the watermark gets embedded automatically?pisquee;80617 wrote:Could you disable right click on your website to make it harder to copy/paste your images?

I suppose there will never be away to stop people stealing your images.

Ignore the website owner. Write a nice letter to the hosting company informing that the images infringe your copyright and ask them to take them down. I'd imagine that repeat infringements would have their website taken offline..it would be in their TOS. Which reminds I have to do the same thing to a thief selling my stolen artwork!
