Not that I'm aware of Nik! Lol, It's just that a few people have told me that the software inspired a few things they have done since buying that for their kids. I dont have it anymore, because I can't get my head around coding I couldn't update it as it was built on VB. they were good days though for me (apart from some of the customers of course..).
Just found a link to it, this surprised me Ear.

Looks good Nik! I got quite into Flash and Actionscript in college, but in this day and age I'm slow to bother programming anything in Flash! :frown:NikGrey;80838 wrote:Lol, It's just that a few people have told me that the software inspired a few things they have done since buying that for their kids. Oh and to the OP...apologies your thread got a bit sidetracked!! If you need to know anything else, just ask
Re: Best Printer + everything else!
You would be well advised to read this thread put together a while back:
http://www.dyesubforum.co.uk/vbforum/sh ... ch-Printer
as it talks about the pros and cons of the different printer and ink options.
As far a what is a CISS - as said it's a continuous ink system, and essentially it uses the ink delivery system design from a large format printer, and "jerry-rigs" it into a small printer. Do you have a large capacity reservoir (usually around 100ml for each colour) which then feeds down some plastic tubing to a set of refillable cartridges which sit on the print head and act like the dampers in a large format.
They can be temperamental though. If there is a joint in the system which isn't air tight, then ink won't flow properly. Also the relative height of the reservoirs compared to the print head is important for consistent ink flow. The other thing is that these small printers were not designed to have their ink delivered from large reservoirs down long tubes, and don't seem to cope as well as printers which were.
If you don't mind a bit of tinkering to keep it going, then they have the advantage of not needing refilling much, and can be topped up as and when, as you can see when they are getting empty.
The alternative is refillable cartridges, where there is less to go wrong, as they work with the way the printer was designed to work. The drawbacks are they don't hold much ink, and so need refilling more often, which can be fiddly and messy.
There are some small format printers which have big refillable cartridges available for them, certainly one Epson but I can't remember the model number, and some Brothers (I think)

If anyone can please confirm if their is anything else I would need on my list?
I've managed to arrange finance for everything, (I'm already up and running with a couple of other products) but its just SO hard with two kids under two! I have my business all planned in my head but I barely get 20-60min a day when eldest is asleep to do orders lol its only going to get harder doing these but its catch 22 as if I don't keep going increasing profits I will have to go back to work in May anyway. (mat leave)

Re: Best Printer + everything else!
Thanks, I worked out £800 just to buy everything *the mug press/attachments (they don't include vat in that price!) I've got my eye on those 12 oz mugs tho.... humm
Can't seem to find another supplier either as yet.
I've added it to my list of what I need gonna work an overall price and go from their. While your here any recommendations on sites to actually buy a printer? I've read through that FAQ but I'm still clueless on this printer marlark. I just want something easy and reilable that prints well...I'm sure it will be worth its weight in gold when I finally get it so price shouldn't be to much of an issue.

Re: Best Printer + everything else!
I found BMS and their Ricoh SG3110DN good, super fast delivery.
In-fact I went on to buy the same machine from them again just as a General Printer - these printers are no hassle at all, lol, when I look back at all of the trouble I had with Epson printers over the years - I have seen the light.
As for the Mug Press - xPress do them AND offer Premium Members a discount: Ear.
