glass clocks

Hi, im having a problem with some glass clocks, there are white filmy patches
on the front of the clock which dont show until you heatpress them, when you
wet it to get rid of it it clears but when it dries its shows up again.
Ive tried hot water, hot soapy water and turps, and its still there. Can anyone
help or have had the same problem

Are these patches cloudy like the transfer hasn't taken properly? I tried a different glass clock the other day and had that problem, wondered if it needed pre-heating. I turned it over and cooked for considerably longer than usually needed and the problem cleared. Paul has a great tutorial video on clocks btw.

Yes but its on the right side of the clock, ie not on the side where you put the design.

Do you press them up side down? Ie transfer on the bottom?

Yes, so it draws up rather than pressing down

there you go then
heat is burning glass coating so you getting patches. try to press it transfer on top of the clock and use silicon matt. this should help.

so is there a coating on the front of the glass? thought it was just plain glass.
When I first started doing this, I did do glass with transfer on the top and press down and it never worked, only ever worked drawing up.
So are you saying put silicon mat on the bottom, then the glass clock transfer side upwards, bit of protective paper then press?
Or another silicon mat on the top between transfer and heat plate?

glas has a coating but not sublimation one
it is used to make glas shine more. when is polished.
