Re: Urgent help sought!

Post by Mugman71 »

I have introduced myself before so if you need to know what I am using look at my history.
Since I have had my mug press sometimes on the bottom of the mug the print fades out, this only seems to happen on dark colours especially black. It doesnt matter if I try to to put the mug in the other way it always happens on the bottom. I recently went to proper sub paper and it still does it. I have turned the heat down to 160 for 300 seconds but its still doing it. Its done it on both printers I have used. Is it my mug press, it has virtually done this from day one but is getting worse. Is it the blanket or whatever you call it? Im seriously looking at replacing, any recomendations?
Any help would be appreciated, may pull my mugs off sale which would be a shame as its getting busy.

hey mugman, are you pre heating your mugs before you print on to them?, it always good to make sure the base of your mug is hot before wrapping your mug and printing on to, as it is the thicker part of the mug it takes alot longer to heat up, so colours will fade if not.

well i can only share my experience there may be other ways but mine is below..
i start by turning heat press on and allow to reach idle temp,
once it reaches idle temp of 120 i pre heat mug for 45 seconds
then i will wrap straight away and press the mug at temp of 190 and i leave in for 140s
every one will come out perfect..
i still over cook the odd one or 2 but i dont damage as many as i use to before reading this thread..
id make 20 mugs, just to have 10 perfect ones pain in the ASS!! :)
i hope this helps you pal you may have to change your times etc, for it to work for you, but pre heating mugs was a must for me and i will happily spend a day just preheating mugs as it has saved me alot of damages in the long run :)
