Epson 1400 poor colours
Re: Epson 1400 poor colours
hi,
i am using an epson 1400 with Artainum ink (cis) i have installed the profile and followed the sawgrass instructions for the setup in photoshop CS3
when i print the quality of the image is good, its just the colours don't quite appear as they should. has any one came across this? or know a quick fix? hopefully im just missing a simple setting.
Cheers
Ricky

Have you tried actually pressing the print onto something yet? Sometimes colours/detail etc. do look a bit off until they are pressed. Is your nozzle check ok?
Re: Epson 1400 poor colours
No I haven't tried pressing the image yet - I truthfully just thought it would come out as dark as it looks, I will give it a go

OK, you didn't say it was dark
Certainly worth a try on a scrap item to see but now you've said it looks too dark I don't necessarily think this will be the case. Could well be a setting, double check everything again.

Could be wrong Justin, but I think Ricky may have meant the images don't look as dark on paper as they do on screen, which to me would sound normal? Well worth pressing something to see how it looks Ricky!Justin;79670 wrote:OK, you didn't say it was darkCertainly worth a try on a scrap item to see but now you've said it looks too dark I don't necessarily think this will be the case. So do you mean as dark as you saw it on screen or do you mean it would be as dark when you printed it as it appeared on the paper?Ricky;79669 wrote:No I haven't tried pressing the image yet - I truthfully just thought it would come out as dark as it looks, I will give it a go

Re: Epson 1400 poor colours
sorry i mean the image is darker on the paper than it is on the screen. i have double checked the settings according to the Sawgrass site and everything seems to match. (i wish this was as easy to set up as my Ricoh printer)
Re: Epson 1400 poor colours
oh and i have tried to press the image and has came out dark.... with a purple tinge.....
