Re: what a nightmare

Hi all im gonna have a gripe so hold tight

4 weeks ago BT rang me and said sorry you're leaving us , to which i replied i havnt got a clue what you are on about ! they decided that it must be a mistake and assured me there was nothing to worry about and they would cancel the order to cancel my line so happy in the knowladge all was well i carried on regardless
then on the 11th of nov it happened i came into work and found my broad band and phone was cut off . using my trust mobile i rang bt to see what the problem was only to be told "but you have cancelled your line with us sir"
i explained i had not and reminded them of the phone call i recieved 10 days previous , the rep was stuttering like a good un at this point and said we may have lost your number how important is it i keep the same number.
WTF !!!! erm let me see how important it is for a business to not suddenly change their number cause its feckin important
i then spent 4 hours on the phone being sent from pillar to post trying to sort my connection out.
deciding i have to get some work done i tethered my mobile phone to my computer using the mobys internet which is less than reliable and set about doing some work while bt supposidly got it sorted
the next day i i got a call from what can only be decribed as the black ops of BT who said its our mistake we have saved your number and redirected all calls to that number to your mobile , what about broad band i asked and was told this would follow once the line was up and running .
last friday i eventually had the line running and was told moday broad band would be restored
monday came no broad band im now told they didnt haver the rescources to carry the work out that day and it was resceduled for tuesday
tuesday no broad band aghhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
wednesday broad band appeared around 2pm but i couldnt get onto a browser double aghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh i emailed the cheif exec of bt and suddenly got loads of emails from various heads of departments promising to get it sorted
today still no browser so rang tech support again this guy obviously knew what he was doing as he said ahhh can see the problem theres a dns rediredt on your broad band try it now yay broad band back .
This is the short version believe it or not ive had 2 weeks of hell from BT at least 5 assurances of call backs countless apologies from various reps . god knows what damage this could do to my business not happy with bt at all i may move after xmas but then im not sure i could cope with all the hasstle again .
rant over

I have had similar experiences with BT on a number of occasions. They are useless and should be shut down in my opinion.

I have received better help from them after emailing the CEO (like you did). For anyone who has BT issues, his email can be found at the link below. He has a team of people dedicated to answering complaints sent directly to this email: http://www.ceoemail.com/s.php?id=9591

well thats a good result, it would be interesting to know how often this happens, as this is only a small board, and yet both you and figlet have had the same thing happen, so it sounds common as such
