It's crap in all honesty compared to our main presses but we still find a way to use it. It can't print all designs but we could manage to get a print the the OP is trying to get done to a decent standard. Not sure of the exact press OP has but I have seen many of the cheaper presses and quite often they do not close onto the mug evenly. Additional pressure helps where a press is like this. The only thing that cannot be overcome is the blanket not heating evenly which is a route we haven't been down yet with the OP.

On a side note regarding price, we originally had to double head presses that cost over £1k each. These were great and a couple of years ago we sent them off to be re-conditioned. This cost £600 for the 2. Came back into us all shiny but struggled to get any decents prints and soon enough put them in the bin. Elements were supposed to be better than before and even having a couple of replacements this still did not cure the prints. I would go for reccomendation over cost these days after that.
wernt nova chrome that refurbished them was it ?

Twas them. Great presses originally but could not then get them to do a decent job after refurb. It is a minefield for presses as even with decent suppliers I have had a fall in standard now and then. I don't think NC bought in cheap parts or anything it was just harder to get heat into the mugs. Tried all options but gave up and moved on with other 5 heads we had. Just stuck with 5 heads now which many people have concerns about but been good for me. The Coralgraph 5 head has better control over temp than the ones we have but overall cannot get near producing the same prints. Also have 2 deck ovens to print other styles but our current 5 heads give us the best overall prints.

I think people will find different things work for them and not others when trying to use a press. That's the way life is with sublimation.

Still no response from Coralgraph, not holding out much hope now tbh.

I have been experimenting over the weekend with another box of mugs to try and get a decent press out of it, I am still experiencing problems with blowing out but it only happens on blacks for some reason.

I am currently pressing at 165 degrees for 120 seconds and I am still seeing the problem, surely I cant be overcooking them at that temp and time?

Does the blowout occur when they come out of the press or when they are cooling?

It is there as soon as I remove the paper from the mug, I am now out of mugs so I need to order some more. NOT from Coralgraph! I still can't believe they haven't even bothered to reply to my email after all of this time.

They were quick enough to reply when there was a chance of a sale, but not when there is a problem to be resolved. I have been looking at the DF-1 from BMS as a replacement, at first glance they look like the same machine though but with slight differences. BMS, what is the difference with your version of the press, build quality, heat mat?

Hang on a minute Paul, I think your comment is slightly out of order. I have emailed their technical support department on Thursday evening with a long and detailed email explaining my trials with the mug press and also my concerns with the design of the press and build quality. I also linked them to this thread so they could see where I was up to with things.

It is now after 11 on a Monday and they still have not responded to my email, when I was interested in buying from them they were quick to respond to my queries yet now I have a problem they are not responding. These are facts that I have pointed out. At no point have I attempted to 'give them a bad name'

I prefer to deal with things via email, it leaves a paper trail I can refer to and allows me to fully explain a situation in detail.

Hi Paul,

I have no problem with you suggesting I 'actually' speak to them, my out of order comment was at your suggestion that I was giving them a bad name. I wouldn't want anybody to think that I was doing anything other than keeping the thread updated with the current progress of my complaint email regarding the Mug Press. If their lack of response to my email (including my follow up email this morning) is giving them a bad name then it is due to a lack of customer service on their behalf.

Just wanted to clear that up so nobody thinks I am trying to tarnish their reputation.

I will take some pics in a minute and upload them
