ebay warning - advise please
Re: ebay warning - advise please
hello again everyone,
I as i have said before i have just returned to the sublimation world and recently bought some iphone covers that have come out really well. I went to put one on ebay to see what numbers of people would look at my design, but a warning flashed up warning me if its not a genuine iphone item (i.e. counterfeit) that my account might be suspended or even closed, if i went ahead and posted it would be flagged up and checked out.
I have a 100% rating on ebay and dont want to lose that but i also want to try to see what sort of iphone cover ideas will sell before i can then turn it into a 2nd income business whilst at the moment i am treating it as a hobby.
Any thoughts about pressing the submit button?
regards

Re: ebay warning - advise please
You need to advertise it as aphone case suitable for an i phone rather than an i phone case this however does not guarantee imunity from ebay police you will prob be ok but theres always a chance ebay will see fit to take action anyway im afraid ebay do tend to be judge jury and executioner and theres times when all logic goes out the window

Important for the artwork/design on the case be your original work and not just nicked from somewhere/someone else.

As Purplegragon has stated, you must advertise it for what it is. If you even imply it is a genuine one rather than "suitable for use with" this could be deemed to be fraud and it wouldn't just be Ebay to worry about. You need to be quite sure of your description to protect yourself from potential prosecution!

Thank you for the advise, I will leave alone and just start with mugs because i dont want to lose my 100% rating.

Re: ebay warning - advise please
just have the listing say "Custom designed phone case fits Iphone 4"... etc.. as you are not advertising it as an genuine apple item you are not in breach of ebays regulations, there is nothing wrong in listing a compatible item or a custom fit item.
I have listed mine in this way previously and have been fine with no issues with ebay.

Re: ebay warning - advise please
Just to let you know I have successfully listed iphone covers on ebay, I have listed them as i phone rather than iphone to be extra safe in my mind, thanks for all your input.

Hmm You've now got me confused...
You say you are worried about losing your 100% fleabay rating but then go and do something that is obviously done to circumvent the protection measures they have in place.
Whilst listing an item as 'i phone' as opposed to 'iphone' might get you past the automated system, it does not protect you from other sellers who might just decided to report you to fleabay to help eliminate what they see as more competition.
Personally, I'd just stick to the very sound advice as given by SSP.
Cheers
