Sublimation does t-shirts and phone cases but you wont sell many sublimation t-shirts, ther are many ways to make t-shirts from laser inkjet and vinyl to name a few, so it will depend on what you actually want to achieve.
i personaly would get a sublimation printer and then think about what type of t-shirts you want to make.

sublimation t-shirts are limited to white only. you will sell them but i have found most of my customers want a black or blue or red etc what is your intended market for t-shirts? i mainly print slogans and text etc and use vinyl and transfers but it means i can sell any colur t-shirt. what type of tshirts do you want to sell? pictures? text? designs? etc

Dave, sublimation is not limited to white only, as we showed on our stand at FESPA this year - only criteria is that print be darker than textile colour. For example, we did a lovely dark purple graphic on a heather-coloured T and a dark blue graphic on a medium blue T.
Admittedly, this works best with tattoo-like graphics rather than full-colour images, where background will influence colours, but there is definitely more to do than just print on white!

Have to agree with this and the garments on show did look stunning... but, the graphics chosen did compliment the use of sublimation on a coloured garment. In the real world there are so many variables that sublimating garments will not provide you with a one stop solution (although arguably there is not a one stop solution for any type of transfer right now).

Using sublimation on coloured garments really depends more on if you are the creator of the design or if you are taking customer artwork and printing.
USING: Whatever it takes to get the job done...

just to give you an idea. We also did a fantastic "Marylin" in B/W with a big red splash-type graphic on a red T - too big to upload, sorry!

Whilst I understand what Mr Sawgrass is saying, it is very restrictive for t-shirts. Great results can be achieved but like SG mentions, you need to have a ranged designed specifically for sublimation. Someone walking in off the street you will likely find more problems than answers if subli is your only route for t-shirts. On coloured I would imagine the choice of styles to be limited as well due to the polyester requirement....... which will also put off quite a few. Although the polyester shirts are a good quality these days, people still think they can be nasty to wear. The Xpres one's most wouldn't be able to tell the difference but just the word polyester puts many off.

As an additional print method subli could be a good add on but not the main option for tees.

Or, if you go wide format, you can print the whole of the white fabric to be black, or any other colour.
