def using the shinier side of the paper, used powerdriver to print as well , havent tried a phto yet just writing.many thanks

Fading at the bottom is due to heat loss from the base. Try pre warming your mug (I use a teriyaki plate) on a radiator or something similar, this will prevent so much heat being lost on the outside of the mug when you first put it in.
Also, try upping the temperature to 170 degrees
