Mmmm I wonder how much interest there would be if standard china mugs could be supplied in smaller quantities at a reasonable price?
Not much in my opinion, in the 10 plus years I have been sublimating mugs I can count the number of quotes for bone china on one hand. If there was such a demand then I suspect the larger suppliers would shift them over quicker and be able to drop the prices.

One of the things we've found with wholesaling our products into boutique/art/gallery shops,is that they are put off by the mugs not being bone china, as that is the type of mugs they normally stock - it takes some persuasion for them to take our mugs in, some eventually take them and find they are good sellers, and others just flat refuse, as they don't believe that their customers will pay £10 for our non-china mugs, when they are sat next to fine/bone china ones on the same shelf for the same price.
We would go for China if we could get them for the same price as our current mugs, but I know our supplier would charge more for remaking our mugs from China, and their price point is already 2-3 times that of a standard Durham chunky mug.
For us, it would be more exciting for us to find a supplier of UK made sublimation mugs, as this would be a bigger selling point than the type of material used to produce them.

What style of mug did you want in China?

Thanks again to one and all, it appears there are mixed feelings on this issue. I would defo pay more for china standard mugs if I could find some.

what do you mean by a standard china mug?

All the suppliers listed in my opinion offer a standard china mug already, and your luck is in, they are already a lot more expensive LOL!!!
